Radio controlled cars are great fun for kids and grown-ups alike. Remote control cars can be seperated into 3 categories which in turn can be futher broken down.
Electric radio controlled cars, nitro radio control cars and finally petrol radio control cars.
Electric RC cars are by far the easiest to control (depending on the speed of the car!) and are usually the starting point for most hobbiest. These cars can come either with a brush or brushless motor. Brushless motors are usually quieter and emit less heat so tend to be more expensive.
Nitro radio controlled cars are an enhanced and more professional level of the standard RC car. They can either come pre built or unbuilt depending on your level of interest and understanding. Learning the components of the RC car provides many opportunities for tweaking and improving perfomance for the enthusiast. They are generally still quite easy to control but take a little more practice because of the additional speed.
At the top end of the scale are the petrol radio control cars. These RC cars run on standard petrol engines offering maximum realism and huge ammounts of speed and torque. Petrol powered remote control cars are usually the biggest RC cars and are also the most expensive due to their complex structure and precession parts.
